John Lauber, President & Founder

John is proud to be a 3rd generation farmer in Hunterdon County, NJ. He has been waterfowl hunting for 15 plus years, and specializes in bringing in migratory flocks of 200 plus Canadian Geese during the early and Regular NJ seasons. John is well respected in the waterfowling community, and has affiliations with many call and equipment manufacturers. John is currently Pro-Staffer for Get Em Locked Up Game calls, Field Staffer for Dakota Decoy and Hevi-Shot Ammuntions.

John's farming experience allows him to "be on the birds" on a daily basis. He always has his eyes and ears on the migration. He has built Jersey Goose Outfitters with a rule of always being where the geese want to be. This is the true key to the success enjoyed by Jersey Goose Outfitters.

I was raised in Chester County, PA, a stone mason by trade; I now own a landscaping business with my brother. I grew up spending time with my dad and granddad, hearing stories of their hunting experiences and started hunting with them at the age of 12. The most memorable stories were ones that my dad told about goose hunting on the farm. One day, after a disappointing morning of rabbit hunting, I saw some guys with goose decoys in a field and found out from my dad that they were goose hunting. That very same day, I went and bought 6 goose shell decoys, went to a local farm and shot my first 2 geese. From that day on, it became my passion. In 2005 Get-em locked up was “hatched”.

I'm married with 2 children a boy and a girl. We have 3 Labrador retrievers. I live in Port Norris NJ, I am a Union laborer. I sometimes think I was born to hunt but forced to work. I've been hunting deer, upland birds, rabbits and waterfowl for almost 20 years. Over the past 10 years I have become an avid waterfowl hunter. There is no better feeling than getting ducks or geese to decoy and then watching your lab retrieve your kills. I really just love everything about waterfowl hunting; the sunrises, sunsets, decoy placement, boats, blinds, dogs, good friends and family.
